So after reading all of your posts I went ahead and booked a reservation. We will be coming down to SA next weekend to check out the housing, shopping, just the town in general.

Oh and the most important part, the commute to Cotulla.

We will be staying near the South TX Med Center. What do you call this part of town? I really need to start learning the names of each area.

I am excited, but not looking forward to the 16 hour drive

Thanks again for all your input! And feel free to keep the suggestions coming, I am like a sponge ready to soak up everything about SA!!!

Congrats and welcome!

That area is called the Medical Center, or if you want to get broader, the Northwest Side.

I would Recommend Going to the west or south sides for some the best tacos you'll ever eat. I like old Danny's cafe on Old Hwy. 90 in the west side. If you decide to go here are some directions. From Medical Center you can get on....

Wurzbach Rd. south to Evers Rd. Were you will take a left.

keep going down the road and you will eventually hit Bandera were you will continue on Bandera.

From Bandera Rd. you will see a school on your left take a right on St. Cloud Rd.

Keep going down the road til' you hit Commerce St. and take a right.

You will see a fork were Old Hwy. 90 and Commerce split, take the left road(the bigger of the two).

It will be the small building on the left a block past the fork in the road. if you hit 34th St. you past it.

Where are you driving in from?

I hope you enjoy your visit! I still think SA to Cotulla is a really long commute, but as long as it's not me doing it, who cares? Your hubby is going to be worn out by the time he gets home, so make sure you get a small yard!

I don't know which way you are driving...
but people keep on telling me that I made the right decision buying my house on the East side from work, because I don't have to put up with the sun in the morning and the evening.

driving to SA from north florida. and the original job he was going to take was going to be over a 2 hour commute, so we got used to the idea and are realizing thats the sacrifice we have to make. it cant all be perfect, that would be too easy!!!

On the way down I35 to Cotulla you might also check out living in Lytle, Devine, or Pearsall. You wouldn't be too far from San Antonio.
