I'm sure dumbazzz Jerry Jones is doing his part to make sure SA never sees its own franchise. Hell, with all the tool Cowboys fans in SA, perhaps an SA NFL team might not make it after all.
That seems to be the current line of thinking around here. However, San Antonio has grown tremendously and will continue to grow rapidly for the foreseeable future. This fact alone I feel will make it so that the league will no longer be able to ignore San Antonio as a viable NFL market. The fact that San Antonio does not have a team presently has much more to do with economics than with any personal politicking by Jones.

And actually, having very many Dallas Cowboy fans in the area is a benefit for our chances of obtaining a team in the future by demonstrating how supportive and loyal local football fans can be for a team. It would just be a matter of transferring that loyalty to a local team. This has been done in places like Nashville and Charlotte.

That being said I also feel it would benefit San Antonio to have a leader or leaders step to the forefront of the movement to get the NFL here locally. Maybe Julian Castro will make this subject one of his concerns when he becomes Mayor similar to what Mayor Hardberger attempted during the early part of his tenure.
