I feel bad for this family. There are signs up in Stone Oak- quite a few of them. If you know of anything, please help.

Resident pleads for the return of stolen pets

Submitted by Staff on Fri, 04/22/2011 - 11:09pm. A Stone Oak resident is pleading for the return of her two beloved pets stolen during a home burglary early Friday afternoon. Between 1 and 2:30 p.m. thieves smashed their way through a glass door of Peggy Riley’s home in the Stone Canyon subdivision. Along with some electronics and small items, the burglars also took Riley’s two dogs.

The missing pets are both Yorkshire Terriers and go by the names of Baxter and Cooper. They are believed to have microchip implants, but were probably not wearing collars when they were stolen. Both dogs have undergone surgery recently and are in need of medication.

Riley has owned the dogs since they were puppies and is offering a large reward for their safe return. No questions will be asked of the person or persons who return the pets.

If you have seen Baxter and Cooper, or know their whereabouts, please call 415-1800 or the San Antonio Police Department.

Lame, you know someone is low when you get burglarized and they won't even leave you your dogs for comfort.

I believe the reward is now going up to $10,000. These little guys need help getting home. Will you Help? Watch out for them in all neighborhoods. Someone must have seen something by now and not realize it. Barking next door, new yorkies getting walked in the neighborhood, groomers getting a new client, vets seeing new dogs, the possiblities are endless. Going to take San Antonio United.

Yeah right. The scumbags who took these dogs while robbing someone's house don't care about the havoc they cause and I'm pretty sure could give a rat's behind about proper care for these dogs.

I truly hope someone does see something and calls the authorities, but I hate to be "Debbie Downer" but since this happened in April, it's now almost September...chances are....well you know with the attitude toward animals in this city and many people thinking they are as disposable as diapers...

Considering that the yorkie stolen from Seguin was sold to a woman in Houston a day or two later, it's within the realm of possibility that this woman's yorkies ended up more than 200 miles from San Antonio. IMO, her best bet at this point is that the microchips will one day work their magic.

people buy yorkies all the time. no need to question your neighbors just because you hear barking one day that wasnt there the day before.
