337 is nice for a Sunday drive. It is very winding thru the hills. I just hate to see all the crosses on the sides .

Evans Road heading west from 281 to Stone Oak Parkway. The view you get right before you go through the s-curve always makes me think I've driving in some Bond movie.

I have another favorite road, but I'm not going to mention it because I love having it all to myself every time I go home from work.

Ditto. Have you gone all the way to Camp Wood on 337?

Go even further base Barksdale and head north on 335. It is the best rode/ride in the Hill Country, a real rollercoaster as it goes along the Neuces River.

But this thread is suppose to be about roads in San Antonio! A bunch of what is being mentioned is outside the city limits.

I was going to say the newly-opened Braun road between 1604 and 1560; but once again most of it is outside of the city. For some reason I really like the 1800 block of Fredericksburg Road going into SA, where the Woodlawn Theater is located. Broadway north of 35 to 1604 is nice too. Somewhere in that area there is a roundabout that has a fountain in the middle of it. Does anyone know where that is?

Cheers! M2

Hmmm, I think you're being a little too specific. I would say this thread is about favorite streets in Greater San Antonio, not just within the actual city limits of San Antonio. So Braun would be fine.

Did you mean Broadway to 410? It doesn't quite reach 1604.

You're probably thinking of the roundabout on McCullough in Olmos Park. I think the new roundabout on Blanco at Fresno also has a fountain.

You'll be happy to know the city is in the midst of design work to widen it to five lanes from Cogburn around to Babcock. Construction is expected to start in August 2010 and be done by December 2011.

Fabulous. That means I'll be stuck at home for a year and a half. The construction will be horrible! All for the sack of progress though.
