We rented a home in Olmos Park Terrace, 78212...and loved it. Also, 78201...Montecello Park area is nice.
The 78212 area near Trinity University has duplexes that are nice and reasonable and "safe"....281 HWY and Mullberry or E. Huisache area.
Co Worker and her fiance live in 78212 and he's from California and one week later after coming to S.A. had his car stolen. It was found a week later and when they got it back, they started using the Club on it and another attempt to stealing it was done about a month later. He has a Honda Civic hatchback so he has a car that's very sought after for parts. Co Worker has a Mitsbushi lancer that's a newer model and nobody's touched her car so it's about how in demand your car is for thieves.

Past that, what is your current financial situation for the home buying process? Do you still need approval or do you have cash in hand/letter from Mortgage Broker?
I'm kinda thinkin' that the OP's "current" situation may be quite different than when he/she originally posted this back in March.
