It all depends on where you are coming from,
Kansas City has a very nice highway system.

Their loop is more like 1604 than 410, takes about 25 minutes from the loop to downtown
and it has about 8 lanes.
I know it took me almost 1 hour to drive 1/2 of that loop on the West side doing about 70MPH with no traffic. (Overland Park to the Airport)

Well, compared to Kansas City, traffic is horrible here.

That said, last time I checked, KC actually ranked first in lane miles per capita and SA was ~5th IIRC, so I'm not sure where they got their fact. In fact, KC has been at the top of that list for as long as I can remember.
