Baltimore to SA... need info on neighborhoods, schools and travel baseball
Hi All!
My husband is being offered a position at Lackland AFB. We're currently in the Baltimore area. What are some of the better neighborhoods for $350-475? What are the property taxes like? I always heard that they are high. We prefer a home that is newer (no more than 15 yrs). Best middle/high schools. Our son plays travel baseball in our area. What are his options out there. Do middle schools have sports - we don't have it offered here.
We would love to move out of the Baltimore area and SA is one of top choices. Our other choice is Huntsville, AL. Baltimore is nice but not my cup of tea. I'm originally from Colorado and want a more laid back environment and warmer weather.
Thanks

Alamo Ranch has some homes that are 350-475K. They are about 3500-4500 sq ft. The builders are David Weekley, Newmark, & Highland Homes.
Property taxes would range from about $7000-9500 per year on a home that price.
Westover Hills might have some homes in that range.
Alamo Heights (great schools) may be the same distance from Lackland as the others mentioned, but your house would only be about 1800-2500 sq ft and built before 1960.
I have no clue about baseball programs.
