We have something poohing under the hood of the car, truck and van parked in front of our house. Not sure what's doing it but we placed just a few moth balls on the ground and we pull up under them every day. So far so good and also haven't noticed the skunk smell lately. Maybe coincidence, maybe the moth balls. I also throw some black pepper out under the glider on the porch. Keeps the cats away at night.

I've also heard that mothballs help...with skunks & did I hear it helps with snakes too (I could be totally off base with that).
Also, IF your doggies DO get skunked - DO NOT try to wash them with soap & water. If you do, I promise it will take MUCH longer to get rid of the smell.
There is some combo of baking soda & peroxide or something along those lines (I'm sure you could find the exact amonts etc online) that we used to use on our pooch. Also, the pet stores sell stuff that you can pour all over them that neutralizes (sort of) the smell. I used to boil vinegar to get the smell out of the house. What a sight/smell I was, walking around the house with steaming vinegar! lol

I heard a big sounding owl soon after the skunk smell. I wonder if Mr. Owl had himself some wood kitty for dinner????

Funny you bring up the owl sounds....where do you live? We have been hearing the owls lately. Not a sound you hear much anymore out this way ( Talley Rd).

When we lived off Boerne Stage Road early 80's, had one right off the front porch. I'm sure it had rabies!! A little advice if you're chasing a skunk to shoot it. Don't chase it through tall grass!! You'll smell like it does when finished!! Don't ask how I know!! ...
