breakin's at Cibolo Canyons near Johnson HS
Anyone hear about a rash of break in's in the cibolo canyons development ? My friend tells me there has 11-12 break ins. One person came home and saw and chased one of them (I know-dumb) it took SAPD 15 minutes to respond!!
Both facts worry me-The break in's and the lack of protection.

You could check with the SAPD SAFFE officer at the North Police substation on Jones-Maltsberger for statistics on that area.

I live in Cibolo Canyons and yes the info is true.
Even with us being gated it doesn't help when the gates don't close until 6:30pm. They made an agreement with the city to keep them open so that people can come in and out and see the houses- You know help with the economy and such.
LOL, I guess we are really helping the economy by giving some people items from our homes as well!
The last I was told, the last break in, in a car up the road from me, was by teens within the subdivision. (Driving age). They were spotted, the car was found at the home, etc... but the police said since they weren't the one's that caught them in the act there wasn't anything they could do about it.
Sounds strange to me.
Geez! You think when you spend this kind of money on HOA to live gated, and this much on a home, you might be safer, but I guess if I was robbing some place I would head out in certain areas too.
Just sucks!!!

You would be surprised how many break ins in gated communities are from people who actaully live in the community. My parents live in an upscale neighborhood off of 281, and came home and caught a guy breaking into the back door of their house. It ended up being a resident a couple streets over

Gated means absolutely nothing. If they want in... they get in. Period. I don't know why people still fall for that illusion.

We had a neighborhood thief, too. He broke his neck on his last adventure. Poor thing.
Oh, but we're not gated, we're tagged.

Some of the safest neighborhoods had no gates. Public awareness of the neighborhood's activities and a proactive police department are the answer.

Wow
****I also live in Cibolo and I have since heard the same thing. The story from the police is crap! The neighbrood (SP) watch that is coming online should help. We all know it is the same group that is doing this . I hope they try my house when I am home, I'll stop it once and for all.....j/k]****
