I've been living in the Plano area for a while, and I really like the suburbs Dallas, but I'm wanting to move away from where i've grown up, and I was wondering how the suburbs are like in San Antonio.

I am wanting to move into an apartment around 450-600 a month, and I'm gonna get a retail job there. Which suburbs are well developed like Plano? I don't want to move into a rural area. Also, is San Antonio more conservative than Dallas? I'm asian and I don't want to be discriminated.

San Antonio is very different from Dallas in that there aren't a great deal of large suburbs like Plano, Garland, Richardson, etc.

However, IMO, the closest suburb to Plano in SA is probably Schertz. Not the same size but the same type of feel and housing stock. The population is booming, about 50,000 now, up from 18,000 in 2000. Schertz/Cibolo area would be my pick.

You will be able to find that in Schertz or Cibolo.

In my experience and personal opinion, Dallas is more conservative than San Antonio. San Antonio isn't the conservative town people paint it. Most of that is stereotypical stuff.

I noticed you posted several queries in other forum locations. It looks like you're making a shotgun approach at relocating to a number of cities or states.
You've also posted elsewhere that you live in Houston, but here you say you live in Plano.

There is a sticky at the top of this page that you might want to look over that gives good comprehensive info about San Antonio.

Where ever you are located, you might want to visit some of the cities in which you are interested. San Antonio is not that far from Dallas or Houston for a weekend visit.

There are way too many variables to really respond to what you're asking. When you get things narrowed down, please ask away with a bit more specific information.

Good luck!
