What's your favorite thing about New Braunfels?
The more we look into it, the more we're leaning towards moving to New Braunfels, so I thought I'd see what those familiar with the area love about it. (and feel free to do the counter-point thing with what you don't love, too).
Someone just put in an offer on our current house, so we may be moving a lot sooner than expected, which means it's time to really ramp up the search.
Thanks!

Just an idea...
I'm buying a house in Cibolo, TX and I hadn't realized that I'm gonna live about 10-15 minutes away from New Braunfels.
I like to live close to cool things, but not too close to them.
I get to enjoy the cool things about New Braunfels, but I don't have to put up with all the tourism that I'm guessing that they get.

Good idea to keep that option open as well. Thanks!
Is Cibolo more flat? We like terrain & trees, which it seems NB has.

NB is about the size of my hometown and every time I go to NB, I see things that remind me of home.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Wurstfest.

Landa Park! Just beautiful! Bubbling springs right out of the ground....lovely park area....but go when it's not busy.
New Braunfels is definitely not flat like Cibolo. There are some new subdivisions just North of NB off HWY 41....very good developers out there. Close to Austin and SA....very small town feel in the down town area. The tourism mainly hits Schlitterbahn, so if you avoid that area you should be fine in NB....but it gets crazy around that park in the summer.
Also NB is in close proximity to Canyon Lake. River Rd is a wonderful drive along the Guadalupe River between Canyon Lake and New Braunfels.
Also...just a hop up Hwy 41 to the West and you'll be in Boerne and the hill country. I'd LOVE to live in NB if work permitted.
Keep in mind however that a lot of long term development is planned between SA and Austin called the I-35 corridor. It would probably be good to avoid being too close to the I-35....and don't rely on it for commuting. It's become a commuters nightmare into SA.
Good luck and let us know where you end up!

Awesome! Thanks for the post bursting at the seams with good info.
Looking at the map, I don't see a HWY 41, though. Do you mean 46?

When I visit family in San Marcos, I usually take an afternoon or more to visit New Braunfels. I like everything about the town, but I love Landa Park. If I ever make the move to TX myself, the New Braunfels-San Marcos-Wimberley-Canyon Lake area is where I'll look first.
