The weather in this part of Texas, in comparison to the rest of the Central Time Zone, is pretty dependable. It's one of my "loves" about this area (and since I'm just now moving to SA, that's about as long as my list is at the moment).

our first summer here I would get all excited when the weatherman said a cold front was coming through. "Great!" I thought, "we'll get a nice break from this 100 degree weather. Quickly learned that a cold front in Texas means the temp will fall to a "chilly" 98

I hate that when you catch a green light, you won't catch another one. Stop n Go Stop n go. It's ridiculously frustrating.

I HATE the tagging.

I hate HEB.

Yes, there is lots to like/love about San Antonio but there are definitely some crappy parts.

Taggin' is everywhere, unfortunately.

HEB reacted to competition that moved in, stating they were going to shut HEB down. Some of the biggest in the country tried, and failed - and that was back when HEB was a MUCH smaller operation. So kudo's to 'em for that. It's unfortunate that so many of the smaller independents "died" in the crossfire, however. Not even behemoth Walmart has been able to take 'em out.

I graduated from UTSA, now I'm teaching english in Madrid, Spain and hopefully moving to Montevideo, Uruguay. Living in San Antonio wasnt the best, even though raised there, I never got used to its ppl or culture. Hopefully it will change when I go back.

I love:
Tex-Mex food

really cheap real estate

La Cantera shops (the most recent good thing that has happened in SA)

Neighborhoods: Huebner, Stone Oak, Castle Hills, Sonterra.

I really despise/hate:
over populated Fat "chicanos/ chicanas" who think they own the world when they can barely own their custom SUV.

that annoying Tejano music.

the ignorance thinking that there are cities in the world much bigger and advanced as theirs.

the synchronization of informal Spanglish. For Ex:" Fui a la store y they were charging me bastante. Y le hice call a Chico para mas money en la credit card." Please, speak either english or spanish, seperatly.

really bad public transportation.

small mindedness of people [although it relates to ignorance]

abandoned dead beat places in downtown.

bad distribution of money.

drastic high levels of teen pregnancy.

I know keeping the history of a city is important, but y make it look like a one horse town?

Its not that multi-cultural. The only culture is the Mexican culture, and even that, its not portrayed or presented well.

How some ppl are so oblivious when crossing a street when they really need to wait for cars to pass by.

those gangs of 5 ppl. and they still get rewarded for their crimes.

the way the majority of San Antonians dress: T-Shirt, cargo shorts, basketball shoes.

the lack of culinary taste. if its not smothered in nacho cheese, chilly, or fried, then its not good and "tastes like ****", or how ever they say it.

really selfcentered egotistical girls, and did I mention fat and stupid?
I never had a relationship with no one in San Antonio, until i moved to Madrid.

the modern hip life is never around [when I mean hip I dont mean dudes in G-unit crap]

theres much more............

I wouldn't applaud the above post because it comes across as prejudiced.

I edited my response. I'm not into the racist stuff either, whether it might be true or not.
