We were driving to Kerville, via Hwy 16, and went by the Medina Children's Home on the way. Now, we have driven by there (both ways) at least 20 times in the last 10-15 years and have NEVER seen any children at play there...either at the playgrounds, or at the nice lakes, or anywhere. And the weather has almost always been nice like today. Do they let children out of the houses there on weekends? It seems a waste for such a nice place.

Here is a link to their website with a lot of comprehensive information.

You might check out the FAQ's to answer some of your questions. They have a scheduled program throughout the week and year. I hope this helps! It's a great institution.

I looked at their website and no doubt they do a lot of good for the children. I just find it odd that I've never seen children outside enjoying the beautiful area. There would be lots of kids outside if it was located in SA.
