New hotels in San Antonio
Staybridge Suites will be building 4 new hotels in San Antonio by 2009.
A $15 million 12-story hotel will open this year at it's 123 Hoefgen Rd. location.
A $15 million 10-story hotel will open downtown in early 2009.
A $10 million 5-story hotel will open in Sonterra in Spring 2008.
A 4-story hotel will open near FT in Spring of 2008 as well.
These 4 hotels are expected to add about 500 rooms to the city. More hotels are being developed in San Antonio that any other city in the US. What other hotels are going up soon?

I read in the news that at least 44 new hotels under construction or breaking ground this year for a combined 7,360 rooms. Of course the Grand Hyatt Convention Center Hotel will account for about 1,000 of those rooms. I also read that choice hotels plans to build 2 new hotels soon.

Im not sure how many hotels are going into the construction phase but, I think Las Vegas has us beat. Check out Skyscrapercity or Skysraperpage.com on just how many they have already built or are building.

I know vegas has a ton of hotels u/c and probably has more rooms u/c. I know one hotel the "Palazzo" alone has 3,025 rooms! I know theres a trump hotel u/c and several others which im sure equals a larger number than sa's count. Oh yea also an area called "city center" is u/c, it has i believe 5 different hotels making up a complex. One of the hotels actually has 4,000 rooms. And a block away is the Cosmopolitan Hotel also u/c which has 1000 rooms. So that alone is a larger number than sa's..Vegas is booming BIG time with hotels right now check out ssp or ssc for more on that. Not to take away from my town though...its just never going to be a vegas when it comes to amounts of hotels/rooms.

Of course Las Vegas is a monster when it comes to hotel rooms, no one argued differently.
