Ambiance is just as important as food. It looks like a school cafeteria, and I'll be @#*#@ if I pay good money for THAT. That whole development leaves a LOT to be desired.

Some of the finest enchiladas and pizza of all time have come out of school cafeterias, so you've made up my mind for me. I'm going to Five Guys this weekend.

Somehow ambiance and a hamburger do not equate; thus the phrase "Hamburger JOINT".

I've been to multiple Five Guy's locations in the Northeast, and they all have the same "bare bones" vibe. (I haven't made it to the new location here, but will soon.) FWIW, I really don't need a four-string quartet playing nearby while I eat a burger. What I do need is a good burger. The rest is just "filler."

Folks, please. I wasn't implying orchestras and fine-dining, and you KNOW that. "Ambiance" can be rustic, casual, whatever. And not EVERY hamburger place needs to be a "joint", just like every bar doesn't need to be a dive.

Scarfing burgers in a sterile white room just feels odd. Granted, I don't want stupid trinkets hanging on the wall, but a bit of design style wouldn't hurt. Plus, I don't spend money eating out, just to stuff my face.
