Is that Texas' plymouth rock you're standing on there, mister? You're missing the English schooner! Oh wait, this is Texas...where's your burro?

There is actually a little town in Arkansas called "Bald Knob". If I lived there I'd get a PO box in the closest town.

I'm sure there are worse.

.....with my luck...or worse.

I remember as a kid, my dad used to keep us from fighting in the back seat on trips by giving us maps and finding funny names on them. I still do it to this day! And no...they are not all perverse! It's still fun. Some are just the weirdest.

Although this little town isn't on the map anymore, it has a cute story. The name of the town was "Ditto", Tx. It was in Atascosa County. The first Post Office box was something bizarre like Mottamossa. It wasn't too populated and it lost the Post Office in the late 1800's. The residents applied for a new one. When they listed the occupant, instead of writing Mottalatta or whatever a bunch of times, they just wrote "Ditto". So the postmaster issued the name "Ditto" to the Post Office. (I'm sure I have some of the details incorrect...but that's the basic story.) Sadly, Ditto is just a lost intersection now on a country road.
