I wonder if we can walk from the RV park to thousand trails? They say it's been worse but I can't remember it ever being this bad up there.

I haven't been there since I took those pics. I don't think you can, but I'm not sure.

OK, I did not hit the mute button, so that's not it---is anyone else's sound out on Cartoon Network right now? I was going to watch KOTH and I can't read lips.

I know there were LOTS of families (Mormons I believe) who lost everything because of the lake.

TTG....those pictures are tragic! Officially...how many feet has the lake lost?
You should send those picture to the news to save them the trip and you'll at least get credit. The picture of the house foundation is really neat. It's sad that some people did lose their property, but I'm sure they were compensated for their land, right? The sad part is a lot of those little farms like that may have graves that were on the property. Not being in the city limits, and being so old, that would have been common back then. (just guessing that rock foundation is at least 100+ years old). You should call the Archeology dept at UTSA and tell them about it. That might turn up some interesting stuff....or not.
Actual cemeteries were usually disinterred and moved elsewhere, but family plots may not have been moved unless the family requested it. If it wasn't their family then...well....who knows.

When my grandmother passed away, we were cleaning out her closet and found a shoebox full of old photographs we had never seen before. I'd say about 90% of the photos in there were mysterious to us...we had no clue who was in the photo.
Do you guys ever stumble into the same situation? Where do you go...who do you talk to...how do you find out more about the photos? You could hire a photo detective, but that takes hundreds of dollars. If we don't investigate the photos, their story will be lost forever.

Nick....excellent point! I wonder about all the photos and letters that are on computers that could disappear with a nasty little virus!
Back to the pics.....you are probably out of luck. We have shoe boxes full of photos too....and my sweet mom doesn't remember who they are! And she has all her wits about her. Grab your relatives now and get those pictures labeled when you can!
