Hey yall I have a question- I have finally gotten with the times and got my "green bags" for the grocery store. So what is the routine? Do you just hand the bagger all of your bags before they start scanning your groceries? And I bought one of those "green" cooler bags, is it proper to expect them to put your frozen stuff like ice cream in the bag for you- or is that up to me? Thanks

I just lay the bags on the conveyor belt before the groceries.
Not sure about the cooler bag. I have two of them but I have yet to remember to take it in the store .

same here. sun harvest even gives a slight rebate per bag. 5 or 10 cents off the total of your bill.

I have two of the cooler bags and they always put the cold stuff in there. I was impressed how well they work but you must zip them up to get the best results.
I have not used a single plastic bad since earth day!! If I forget my bags in the car I just put stuff back in the cart and bag it myself at the car.

I'm getting much better at remembering my bags and I really don't like the plastic ones anymore. The other bags have flat bottoms and they sit on the folded down rear seat of my truck a lot better and also don't move around much. My only problem now is I can't get them to use my giant bags from Paris. We did some grocery shopping there and got two big bags to carry the stuff home in, but HEB won't use them. They didn't actually say they won't use them, but they never put anything in them. They just take the smaller bags out and use those instead. These bags are really nice and big and can probably hold at least twice as much as a normal reusable bag.
BTW, I like that term much better than "green". That term to me is something an uppity uninformed person would use and they'll usually use it to try to make themselves look better than everyone else. That's just me, though..
