I'm with ya, sister! It has been Friday ALL day. Even bought my mega millions lotto ticket while I was at the Valero buying some beer. Thought I'd stay up for the drawing then realized it's not today! But I drank the beer anyway!
Yep, I think school being out has something to do with it!

That, and my deepest, most intense, THOROUGH longing that it was indeed Friday.

I'm SO glad school is out
why do so many freaking people drive their kids to and from school? that's the easiest way to take a huge chunk out of air pollution. I always see them there about an hour early with their engines and a/c running the whole time. It's just stupid

1) Have you SEEN how those busses are driven? I wish I had a quarter for every time I've called the NISD cops about one bus in particular.....crazy, erratic driving!

2) Do you know how many fights, and how much opportunity for bullying there is on a school bus? Many parents use the "avoidance" tactic, and hey, I don't blame them one bit.

3) You have to live 2 miles from the school before they'll provide bus service, and you may say, well "Walk Then"--but many times there aren't sidewalks and they expect kids to cross major roads. There are not enough Mama Patrols out there.

4) Gas is relatively cheap right now.

5) The kids are not even belted in on a bus.

6) It just ain't as cool to ride the bus.

Take your pick.

If anyone wants to shed a little tear in the morning (in a good way), watch this girl's face when her dad returns from Iraq:

Air Force sergeant returns early, surprises daughter (http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/local_news/Air_Force_sergeant_returns_early_surprises_daughte r.html?c=y&showRelatedVideo=y - broken link)

Just go ahead and call me stupid then because I drove my daughter to and from school every day until she started driving herself.

It was good old fashion quality time and I wouldn't trade a moment of it for anything.
