Aww, Progresso is where it's got it goin' on. I love that little town. Well, 3 blocks in is my max, but still, it's a great little place. I LOVE the cold cold cold beer at the little dive bar that has all the dollar bills (American) taped to the walls. My artwork and cash grace those walls. And, truth be told, I've maybe brought some Amoxicillin back a time or two. Just in case.

My husband grew up in Mercedes, so that's where we cross. I do love that little town. I've gotten some great silver pieces and cool glassware from the Canada store there.

As long as you have personal supply (and not 50 boxes/bottles) , it's cool. I've brought back tons of that type of stuff over the years. They're always cool with it at the border. I have to wait for my BIL to come up for the good stuff though...doctor in MTY..

NOW you tell me. Do you know how many buckets of sweat I've left on that bridge?

We usually drive across. Last time it took us 3 hours to get back to the US side. I mean, luckily we had a vehicle to sit in, but dang. Three hours, sitting in the heat and the sun and with the windows down and the dust. Yuck.

Happily, there were strolling beer vendors.

I haven't been in a while, but I used to walk over with the guys from work. We had one local (well, Brownsville, and he spoke Spanish ) that would take us over there.....and at 3 blocks deep he was like "uh, we need to turn it around now." We used to have a blast over there. Quarter to get in, 50 cents to get back out. I used to love my $6 barrels of Kahlua....

The place I saw this posted said "For the first 27 seconds, it looks like a normal wedding video. After that, it gets awesome!" I guess I'm getting to old to find it "awesome," but it is unique.

Well I'm embarrassed. I've never been to Progresso despite living down in that region for over 20+ years.

Used to go across to Matamoros all the time, though. Used to help lead a student spring break tour across the border. We no longer do that due to the violence.

I just saw that on FB, Bowie. It made me laugh, and I even teared up a little (I am a huge sobby sucker for a wedding, especially a wedding that is so full of joy and fun).

I hope they are married for a hundred years.
