I didn't even want to read that baby article, Saph. Crazy news day today...

They also found an interesting Roman coliseum and port in Italy.

see and my kids never tolerated the swing. Honestly, the crying never got to me that much, especially when they were little babies -- could just tune it out when I had to.

Now, however, kids are older and talk non-stop all.....the....time. Mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy. It's constant chatter. Oldest even talks while I brush her teeth. No exaggerating. She never shuts up. Can't tune them out anymore and boy, are they getting under my skin. By the way, my bad driving lately...all due to the chatterbox in the backseat. I've missed more exits in the last few months b/c she's such a distraction. Mommy, mommy, mommy....

Warning to all: Parenthood is pure hell 89 percent of the time. Remember this little fact next time you want to get some without using something.

Assuming that the father was abusive even before the baby entered the picture...who is this woman who reproduced with a man who is capable of harm to his own infant?

I wonder (but not really) if a pattern of abuse by the father (against any other person; infant, child or adult) could be confirmed to have occurred before reproduction, if the mother could be held liable for abuse herself as she allowed reproduction to occur knowing that she would be bringing a child into this world with a father whom is predetermined to be abusive.

*whoa*

To compare to a recent story, like the grandma who left an infant on the floor while she went to make a bottle...she left the infant with two dogs who had a pattern of biting and nipping AND she had a "beware of dog" sign in her yard. Along the same lines, if this woman had ever called the cops on the father for having hit her or starting a physical fight...there ya go.

And now, something a little lighter on the news (and a good example of short, witty written news journalism...yes pointing my finger at YOU SA Express):

WORLAND, Wyo. - A northwestern Wyoming man received a citation for letting his horse wander in Worland, but not before he complained to town law enforcement officials about the absence of a hitching post in front of the local saloon.

William Schellinger was cited by Washakie County law enforcement officers for allowing his horse to run at large in this city along the Big Horn River.

Schellinger was apparently in a bar early Sunday when his horse wandered away, prompting police to follow it to make sure it didn't cause an accident with a car.

After being confronted by officers, Schellinger contended the city didn't have any hitching posts and told them they should spend their time arresting real criminals, not bothering cowboys with wayward horses.

If that was my 6 year old, he would not be sitting down for a while.

Unless his parents put him up to it.

yeah, this thing isn't quite sitting right. Kinda like that student at one of the local colleges that claimed she was raped a few days ago and then didn't want to talk about it. Or the crazy lady that "won the lottery" in Ohio. People are definitely losing their minds.
