Is that a new thing? I sat next to a woman with a gassy Peek-a-poo on Southwest YEARS ago. She had it out of the carrier and on her lap. It stunk up the plane the entire trip.

Had to deal with someone's small chihuahua yesterday on a flight and it bit me. Now we don't have to worry about shoe-bombing terrorists onboard, now we also have to deal with rabid chihuahuas.

If I were you, I'd complain to Southwest in great detail. You might get a voucher out of it and you'd definitely be providing management with some valuable feedback about the new policy.

Remember the days of "hot towels" in first class? I could tell some horror stories about passengers using them before a meal. But I won't. FCF's toenail story was enough for today.

But the dog/cat must remain in their carrier, stored at the floor of the person carrying on. How did you get bit?
This is exiting though, knowing we can travel with our dog.
75$ each way.
that's nasty! why would anyone think that's appropriate behavior on a plane?
and why was the chihuahua out of it's carrier? I thought they had to remain in that thing and be stowed under the seats?
I think they could've left that last line off of their policy. Like anyone would leave their dead dog in the cabin.. but I guess you have to cover all the basis with lawsuit happy lawyers everywhere.
So anyhow, this chihuahua was not supposed to be out of its carrier. So either the owner broke the rules or Nick was sticking his finger where he wasn't supposed to...
The chihuahua is a terrorist and I even call one of mine terrorist. They are very vicious and have no clue that they are 100x smaller than you, nor do they care. Watch Beverly Hills Chihuahua to get a good lesson on their history and watch the Dog Whisperer episode featuring El Diablo to see one in action. Anything that can take over a pit bull rescue with over 50 pit's is a seriously vicious animal.. there's nothing funnier than watching them scramble as El Diablo walks through. No doubt about who the alpha dog is there.
The El Diablo section is at the end of this Hulu - Dog Whisperer: Chihuahuas from Hell - Watch the full episode now. and the entire episode is my favorite. The El Diablo section starts at around 24:00 and you can skip to it.

On my last visit to the thread, I noticed that the board added the phrase "live-in buffet" to the title of this forum's Official Restaurant thread. That sounds like a dangerous concept, but I also know some people who would move to a place like that in a heartbeat.
