they really don't need a study to know that 1604 traffic sucks a$$. I wonder how much they'll have to spend to figure out those three retarded stop lights between Bandera and Culebra are what is screwing everything up? you've gotta love the special people..

stone oakers encourage people to join them. I never tell anyone to move out here. There's already way too many people out here!

I've been here since June 2001 and it has changed almost as much as the world in general has changed since then. Take me back to the early 1980's. I'll gladly go through high school for the rest of my life. No I won't.. but I did like the world I knew back then.

I heard that, too. Given that the quote came from a spokesperson for the RMA, I'll wager that the study's "solution" will involve tolls.

Welcome to the crew! I spent many summers and holidays in Kerrville growing up. It was so different then....much more small town. We loved to walk to the hospital and the big thing was to go up and look at the newborns.
Also went to Kriders on the river a lot, spent time at the ranch, BBQed and swam in the river. Really a whole lot of nothing with fantastic memories. Isn't it great that memories can be made without much of anything but good company? I'd love to know what all is going in in Kerrville now. The few times I've been there it still seems charming but enough growth to offer so much for visitors. The downtown area is so pretty now. My favorite part is that back road drive to Bandera. GREAT scenery. Maybe we'll plan a meet and greet soon!
|
Thanks for the welcome. All I know of Kerrville is my daughter-en-law and son live there and they like it, I have never been there. From what they say it still has that small town charm, but I am sure it's grown much since you used to visit....maybe you will have to plan a trip there to see.

This is true. And lately it has been my evening too.....because I can't sleep! 3 hours a night isn't cutting it for me

How big will the NW side of SA be then? We almost moved to Corpus Christi, but decided against it. I just couldn't decide if that's where I wanted to be.

But, on the other hand, whenever I fly over Texas, I see vast and vast amounts of land uninhabited....and it puts it in perspective for me: There is still a LOT of land out there. Despite the cities being so dense, I think it's actually better for the environment as it keeps the majority of people in a single area, rather than spread all out over the state.

Nice.....I am not kidding. That looks like 1604 in the late 60's (although a different car!) My dad was working at Randolph and almost bought a house out in Hollywood Park back then when it was being developed. We drove that 1604 to Randolph trip many times while looking at houses. They finally opted against it because they thought it was too far! Sniff....

Sounds like my Grandparents, My Grandfather was teaching at SAC after retiring from FT. Sam in the mid 70's, they looked at Windcrest, and decided it was too far out and bought in the '09 instead.
