oh boy... I haven't tried just Spanish in a long time and will probably massacre it.
Ever since I learned Serbo-Croatian after learning Spanish, I have mixed the two up a lot and it makes things difficult unless you're one of the few that knows both. I used to do it on purpose to one guy I worked with and it would drive him crazy. He would know what I was saying, but it took a few seconds to realize I said it in a mixture of three different languages.

In the meat case is a pig-head-shaped chunk of chorizo. It just creeps me out in the weirdest way--someone puts two fingers in to make the snout indentions. The eyes seem to follow you throughout the store.

Every one I've been in smells very bad......like what you'd think old blood and parts would smell like. Well, that, plus crap. LOL no I am thinking of Austin Powers. OK it just smells funny but not in a ha-ha way.

They are not sparkling clean, nor are they semi-sparkling clean. Think of how your kitchen and or bathrooms would look if you allowed your pre-teenagers to make the cleaning schedule decisions. Yeah. Pre-teens with other things to do. Not the neurotic, clean-freak pre-teens that I've seen around town, but the ones with iPods permanently attached to their ears and that FML look about 'em.

The meat--I didn't care for it but it may have been in my head. Don't think so, though.......a friend bought skirt steaks and they were extremely tough and greasy and he had marinated them overnight. It's just not worth it to me to go in there.

They also have (the one on Tezel anyway) a rather disgusting presentation of some sort of chicharrones or something unidentifiable under heat lamps near the register, where you can also pick up (fittingly) some antibiotics from Mexico.

And organics? I don't think the "organics" in there are up to health code, but don't quote me on that.
