Ha! This is what I'm known for. Not for insightful, thoughtful posts. Not for a sense of humor. Not for compassion. But for my dental-phobia! Fabulous!

I keep trying to gear myself up to go to the dentist, but I'm askeered.

At his request, gy2020's question about rep points and stars was moved to a new thread in About the Forum.

How Many Reputation Points do the Dots and Stars represent?

The 4 or so replies to the post were moved, too.

Actually one of the reasons why I love play-by-play is because it IS relaxing.

Have you thought about asking him in his WEATHER thread here?

Your analogy is quite the stretch. It's too bad that people don't know their history and that "siestas" were out of survival in the blazing heat at the hottest part of the day. A little digging into other cultures in hot climates would find similar cultural traditions. It's just a quaint little statue made in Mexico by Mexicans. IF it is so offensive, then someone needs to clue in the people making them that they are perpetuating a very UN PC stereotype according to you.

Personally, I don't like any kind of lawn ornaments, whether they be Mexican statues of any kind, roaming gnomes, pink flamingos or pinwheel daisies. I prefer natural rock formations, plants and water features like fountains. This particular couple is fun and likes folk art, whimsy and creativity. I'm sorry they apparently can't have that because certain people want to stretch something innocent into some statement of hatred.
I don't disagree with you, except that the fact that people can't enjoy such things is not the fault of those who are offended by them, but those who create and perpetuate racist stereotypes. You and I are aware of the history behind the siesta (I have studied history); however, the average person is not. My point was not whether each character was created in response to a stereotype, but rather, to explain why people are offended by them. My main argument was, "It really has nothing to do with political correctness, but rather eliminating racist stereotypes which until not too long ago were considered normal and acceptable."

a siesta is a break after a large lunch and they happen in countries all around the world (been there and seen plenty of them). Some countries obviously have different names for them, though. How is this racist? too late, it's not! people who make up their own racist phobias because they are filled with self hate are the problem.

anyhow, I'll have another Cheddar's review in the Cheddar's thread. I'm sure that is something more people will and should care about.

Every time I drive past there that place is packed. Are the waitresses topless or something?
