It was on Fred road just south of the HEB. It's defintely some kind of restaurant now, the window had neons signs for Hamgurgers, tostadas, tacos, and more.

Is Epp's still in business? I'm not familiar with them.

GW, those *old bus stops* were built 8-10 years ago.

the building which is at the corner of Gramercy and Fred Rd......
when I was a teenager, 1960s,
a friends father owned it as a *service* station (anyone remember those)
we hung out there a lot. called it Baker's Texaco.
worked on a few hot rods and murdersickles there.

That building is far from restored,
in my opinion, they ruined it with their *upgrades*.

Mud: I was going to Jeff , grad. 1961. Here is a pic of Epps inside and out. I think Epps girls were going to Jeff about that time.

I believe Epps burned down and was rebuilt. It had good food. I didn't eat there much. I liked an Italian rest. further up Fred Rd, about where Balconies comes in. It was later turned into a day care. I can't remember the name. Any help here? And Green Pastures was where 410 took it out at fred. Rd. Loved the 7 course dinners there in the 1950's.

Thanks for posting the annual. Its ashame how many of these local businesses are completely gone, now. It's all chains now.

That series of photos is a great documentary of the Fred Rd neighborhood c 1960

Last time I saw him he pulled three photo albums out of his truck.

Chock full of black and white hotrod/dragracing photos from the fifties/sixties
at the Bun n Barrel, Double Eagle Drag Raceway, Stanley's Sixty Six, etc etc

He raced all over the country.
And, he'd kick your ass cross country too. If you needed it, and sometimes if you didn't.
