Anyone has any information?

Thanks.
Did it look like this??

Eugene "Mike" Nolte, Jr., like his father, was a powerful voice in the Republican Party and a prosperous businessman. He was a strong supporter of Republican Presidential candidates Wendell Wilke and Thomas Dewey. He and other "old guard" Republicans in Texas tried to nominate Senator Robert Taft of Ohio for President in 1952. Nolte was himself the Republican candidate for Texas Governor in 1946. In business, Nolte followed in his father's footsteps as President of Merchants Ice and Cold Storage Company. He was also a beer distributor and President of Alamo Poultry and Egg Company, as well as a Director of Nolte National Bank of Seguin.
Oh you da man Fred! Great find and very interesting! Merchant's Ice and Cold Storage another biggie! Apparently the 30's were roaring too!

Basse Rd was probably the City Limit at the time of the matchbook.

by the way - good find on the plate and matchbook.

Olmos Dinner Club was a very popular night spot starting early 30s.

big band music, political dinners, etc.

devolved in the mid 60s into the Olmos Club.

I remember the Olmos Club. That area was part of my stompin grounds in the 50s 60s 70s.

backside of the club was a great place for drinkin, and, etc......

south of Contour Dr, east of San Pedro. right behind Jay's Drive In.

Jay's was a cool spot to meet up. Hasslocher enterprise.

also on Contour was the Olmos Skeet Club. east of McCullough.

over there they shot at plates stead of eatin off em.

The north city limit was Basse, I believe it remained so until the early 60's. I remember the
fireworks stand(s) just north of the tire store on San Pedro, south of the creek. Anyone
remember "Baby Giants", Cherry Bombs" Silver Salutes", "Torpedoes", Cluster Aerial Salutes or large
capacity Roman Candles? What fun it was to "duel" with Roman Candles and garbage can lids!

Gee, with all those "key" words, the NSA is possibly a new blog member, if it isn't already.
