Default Used Transmission Fluid

Does anybody know of any place that accepts used transmission fluid? Most of the places I know of only accept used motor oil but not transmission. Thanks in advance guys.

well FYI Transmission fluid is not as contaminant as oil. But I'd take it to an auto shop, they'll take it off your hands.

I would call your local auto parts store. Most will take used oil, ask them about the transmission fluid.

Transmission fluid is highly refined mineral oil , basically an oil that will withstand more heat, friction and other demands of the components of the automatic transmission. But, it is oil, however, Most ATFs contain some combination of rust preventatives, anti-foam additives, detergents, dispersants, anti-wear additives, anti-oxidation compounds, surfactants, cold-flow improvers, high-temperature thickeners, gasket conditioners, and petroleum dye, but then again, so do most motor oils. They dump them all at the oil change places. They change the ATF there also.
