I haven't read all these threads but the mere mention of this place brought back memories. When dh and I first got together back in the mid 70s, we rented a little stucco cottage in the woods adjacent to the Roaring 20s. Our landlord told us it had been a speakeasy but at the time was just a dinner club. There were always lots of Cadillacs parked outside - the older crowd I believe. I can't even describe how gorgeous that area was before all the housing developments went in. We took walks to a bluff behind our house that overlooked a forested valley below. Near the end of our stay, a developer came in and plowed down many trees and began on Churchill Forest (or whatever it's called). We were back in the area recently and could not believe how it had changed. Just a bunch of ugly sprawl...it's funny to think that most newcomers rarely even ponder what might have been there before their comfortable, suburban homes.

If this has ben poted already I'm sorry.

The Roaring 20's site now has an Estate (Well pretty much so) on 10 plus acres. I have no idea if that is part of the original club. They have the archway as you enter. I looks nice. As you know it sits behind a closed Mexican Food Place.

I's a bit inside of 1604 off of Blanco, on the right before you get to Biiters. I'm certain the road you travel down in Old Blanco Rd.

Yeah, this thread is pretty darned long, so you have a "pass" for not reading it all ~ but YEP! The fact that the site is now an "Estate" has been well discussed (and the owner quite vilified IMHO) by one poster who used to live nearby. Quite a few slanderous accusations of arson, as well.
