Papoulis is good, but I was sad to see their 1604/281 location shutter...

Demos is decent, but their level of service at St Marys is beyond slow. I also take issue at the prices they charge. Nearly $25 for a combo plate. That's highway robbery.

Seriously! They charge something like $2.50 for what looks like half an ounce of hummus. Absurd. Still, the falafel isn't bad.

Papouli's on Huebner and 10 is not very good, at least when I visited it wasn't. Kostka's is my fav so far, but Zorba's has really good hummus, and that's a sentence I never thought I'd hear myself utter. Not a big fan of the hummus, until here lately.

I agree mtdave........Kostka's would be phenomenal if they just did the minimum as far as "sprucing the place up"--I would have never believed how good it was if my son, who has typical 20 year old standards (hey, there's no hair in it, and it's as good/better than Ramen) hadn't sold me on it. He's a huge fan of theirs.

Demo's--need to give it another shot. The gyro I had came with mozzarella and there was enough cheese to make 3 large pizzas. I felt like I was eating a Philly cheese steak.......but the meat was very flavorful and good. Just need to 86 the cheese next time, because the tsatsiki sauce was quite good.

Before I moved last year, there was a small Greek place in a strip mall called "It's Greek to Me", located off of Babcock near Huebner. Since I lived in the Med Ctr, that's where I went. I wouldn't call it awesome Greek, but it wasn't bad. Hopefully the economy has not forced them to close. It was a mom & pop place and the guy was always so nice to me & my husband. I also used to buy feta cheese there since it was cheaper than HEB--then realized I could get even cheaper at Ali Baba's on Fredericksburg Rd.

John the Greek Restaurant is really awesome. It's off 281 at Thousand Oaks. The owners are from Greece.

That sounds so good right now, even though it is 7:52am. What is the full address of this place?
