Gorbechav became an defacto hero to the American left movement in the late 80-s and 90s.
Liberal colleges and U pay him huge amounts of money to speak to their student body. Teachers and professors teach his policies as great and correct.

I really liked Gorbachev. He was the right man at the right time for USSR (Russia). I liked him far more than the current Premier and President. Reagan brought out the best in him!
