Default New To Forum/Moving to San Antonio Area

Hello, name's Andrew. I'm moving from Suffolk, England to San Antonio [I am not British though]. I'm thinking about the Northeast side. Near Universal City/Schertz/Cibolo. Is that area safe? Is crime high there? What is there to do in that part of town? Any malls? Is it growing with new subdivisions?

I know San Antonio very well as I was born here. Although I lived in Shavano Park and then the Southside. I can't wait to get there.

San Antonio is always different whenever I visit it.

Universal City has a lot of crime?

From 1999-2005 there were only 4 murders.

The crime index of Universal City is WAY below the national average.

The same can be said for Converse.

From 1999-2005 there were 0 murders.

And their crime index is even lower than Universal City. Even lower than Schertz.

I think its safe to say that both are relatively safe cities.

Thanks for the info.

I know you guys have replied to alot of these "Moving to San Antonio" threads. I'll be in SA for four yrs and will be working in Universal.

I'm currently considering Schertz as a highlight location right now.

The Schertz-Cibolo area combined for, as of 2005, around 37,000 people. At current growth they will hit a combined 100,000 people by 2010.

The western part. Near Newmarket. Are you familiar with that area? Are you British?
