Heard a little rumor @ the Alamo.. is it moving?
My husband dropped a shock bomb on me last night and said he heard on the news that they're planning disassembling the Alamo and moving it to Fiesta Texas (in the area of it).
First of all, I thought maybe it was an April Fool's Joke.... but he said it wasn't.
Is it true?!!! If it is, it just doesn't seem .... right!

It's true - the purchase price was supposedly in the neighborhood of $20 million, with the city retaining the rights to the vacated property. All pieces will be carefully photographed and numbered in order to assure proper reassembly at their new site.
It's a great deal for both parties, since the park will be able to draw more visitors while the city is now able to develop this prime piece of downtown property (and the new development will bring in property tax revenue).
