Default A/C work on Jeep

We've been quoted between $975 to $1200 for some repair work on our Jeep (some O2 line (orifice tube?) that goes behind the dash, accumulator, and the evaporator core replaced). We're wondering if we should get a quote from a place that specializes in Jeeps. Anyone have any recommendations?

Definitely get more quotes. You don't need to go to someone who specializes in Jeep, A/C is A/C no matter what kind of vehicle.

Good luck. Oh, and that quote sounds high to me.

I agree, as a fellow Jeep owner (bought mine two years ago yesterday! ), they are easy vehicles to work on!

Plus, what's the need for a/c in a Jeep?

Cheers! M2

I have to fix the A/C on my car, too.

Anybody here knows if it's worthy driving to Mexico to get it fixed over there (just wondering)

I'm one of the many who prefer a professional to pull things out of the engine of my car. Besides, my husband has never worked on a car. Ever. I'm not of the opinion that he should start now.

It's a Cherokee (not a Wrangler), and it transports my 2 year old occasionally. That's why we need A/C.

LilZ_098 will become famous soon enough
I had something similar happen with mine last year. We had it repaired at Car Rx off of Babcock. We had a warranty however so were only responsible for the deductible. But they do good work and we've never had any issues with them. There is also a place off of Bandera & Eckhert called Don's Transmissions I believe. I don't know if they do A/C but they come highly recommended through folks I know.

I understand the A/C thing, this is Texas afterall .
Sorry I can't recommend anyone, my husband does our A/C.

You could check at Mander Automotive on Bandera Road (Helotes). He is VERY honest with auto repair. I'm only guessing that he would do A/C work.
Good luck.

My bad, I am of the narrow mindset that there is only one real Jeep!

And MD Automotive on 1560 (Galm Road) about a quarter mile north of Culebra does outstanding work as well.

Cheers! M2
