We’re fixin’ to have a good ole fashioned Texas style family reunion for all you cousins, siblings, kin, descendants, offspring, in-laws, out-laws, and all manner of assorted relations. Some of our shared pioneer kindred that cause us to bust our buttons with pride are:

• Thomas Roderick Townsend who first came to Texas in 1826 and was one of the first Texas Rangers. (for the record we started out on the right side of the law)
• James Johnson Sr. We’re not sure when he moseyed into Texas but we know his sons Frank J Johnson and Lewis Johnson crossed the line and followed old Ben Milam to the first Siege of Bexar.
• William Bradford, brother of Adam and son of Samuel, who came to Texas in the 1840’s and settled in St. Peter’s Colony near Fort Worth and then ended up in the Hill Country like all good Texans. He pulled an oxcart full of rocks to help build our state Capitol.
• James Stone, father of Polly Ann Stone who married Andrew Fields Pruitt with the entire clan making their way to Texas in 1843
• Showing up after statehood but still in time for Indian raids, Daniel T Brown and Elizabeth Viverette, John Pierce and Mary Johnston, The yet to be named Nixons – oh, you know who you are!

So saddle up, hop along, or load up your buckboards or covered wagons and come on over and join us for a rootin’ tootin’ hollerin’ hootin’ good time celebrating our pioneer heritage!
The Pioneer Roundup Family Reunion is for Martins, Bradfords, Nixons, Pruitts, Stones, Johnsons, Townsends, and oh heck, there are too many to list out when you’ve been in a state as long as we have. *Hey, it ain’t braggin’ if it’s true!* If you are family, friend, fan or even if you’ve only heard tell of these good hard working folks you are welcome to join us!
Live music featuring Bobby Martin playing some western swing (Y’all know he sings as fine as cream gravy!)
We’ll have a heap o’ fun playing bingo, pitchin’ horse shoes, storytelling (some might even be true). There’s a play ground, games for the kids, visiting and food like there’s no tomorrow. Come meet your “people” in a comfortable, casual setting, and enjoy the music, conversation, and did we mention stick to your ribs, dinner on the grounds, forget about your diet, potluck? Bring a main or side dish for your family and to share. We’ll have tea, water, and barbeque for everyone. We’ll even have contests for who has come the longest way, the youngest and oldest family member, and much more! Y’all come!
