Please please please dont put a declawed cat out doors. If they run into a bigger cat, a dog or something else, they won't be able to defend themselves and they won't be able to climb a tree to get away.
Also, I don't know why vets even perform such a barbaric thing on cats. And I don't know why they call it "declaw". They do much more than take off the claws. The actually remove the tip of the digits. If they actually removed the claws only, then they would simply grow back.
Instead of the unnessary and brutal surgery, here are some options
Train the cat to scracth on a post rather than furnture (there are techniques)
Put "soft claws" on the cat's nails. You can order these online or get from pet stores.
Or if you want cats in your life accept the fact that they might sometimes ruin furniture. Human kids break things all the time, we don't surgicallly alter them to make sure they don't.
