Martial Arts in San Antonio
Hi all, I am new to posting at this forum, but been viewing for quite awhile now. I am trying to find good Martial Arts schools in San Antonio for adults. Any info that you guys can provide would be great. There is one place I found online called "k u k Sool Won" in the Timberhill area taught by a Daniel Jolly. It looks interesting. I just want to make sure I am joining a good place. I'm grateful for any info, thanks!
*had to spread out the word k u k in the martial arts name, the forum filtered it out for some reason lol*

If you mean Mixed Martial Arts, then I recommend Rise Above/Fight 4 Life MMA ( FIGHT 4 LIFE MMA / About The MMA Program) - a friend teaches there.

Good thread, and I am also very interested. Does anyone know if there are and Studio\Gyms in San Antonio? I would like to go to a place that is not only a teaching center, but also a place for your workout (ie: has training equipment such as weights, cardio equipment, punching bags, roman chairs, ropes, dip bars, etc...) the likes of warehouse studios. Most of what I have seen is the traditional strip center spots with basic instruction, and if you want more you need to join a gym on top of that. Also a place that is more adult focused rather than children, and if not at least have separate areas, or classes from younger kids. A sparing ring would also be a major plus. As far as the type of martial arts my personal preferance would be a mixture of the likes of maybe hapkido, mui thai, karate, capoeira, and jujitsu. I have trained in Kyokoshin Karate for 13 years, Taekwondo 4 years, and Krav Maga 2 years so a very experienced training staff would be a major plus as well. If anyone has any info, or could help I would greatly appreciate it!

They have a great crew, very well trained. How long ago were your surgeries?

It also depends where you live in SA.
My daughter goes to National School of Martial Arts. They are by Chase Hill by UTSA. I'm happy with what she has learned and she also enjoys it. It took her awhile to get her black belt but in a way I guess you have to earn it.
They have separate classes for little ones and adults.

The first one was back in highschool like 8 or 9 years ago and that one feels pretty good. The most recent was last June and that one I'm still pretty Iffy on. The thought of kicking and twisting still makes me cringe hahaha...been working with a local trainer and fixing to start up p90x to try and get back to 100%. Really wanna get in to try that gym..

Well give them a call, and see what they think - they may have a program you could still take part in, without stressing that injury.
And wouldn't P90X still twist up that ACL?? I really need to start that program over again, I got a couple of workouts into it and then changed shifts on my job, and haven't been able to get back into it...
