We have the opportunity to purchase land with the equity we have in a timeshare.

We saw Lake Ridge at Joe Pool Lake (Cedar Hill - Grand Praire) and likes the community and access to the lake. However, since I have learned about the bad schools and questionable neighborhoods.

I also have teh opportunnity to buy in the NeW Braunfels area.

The schools seem better,

Please share your opinions and insight into what New Braunfels has to offer for a 52 year old mother, 45 year old father and a 9 year old son who currently llive in the Chicago Land area.

Also, How hot doe sit really get (how miserable is it)?

Thanks.

Let's just say it's a long, hot summer. We have our days of extreme humidity...and some with lower humidity...but it's the LENGTH of the summer that gets to folks. April is in the 80's...then MAY,JUNE,JULY,AUGUST,SEPTEMBER and most of OCTOBER are generally in the 90's (70's at night)..look for cooling after halloween. We only top 100 a few times...but mid 90's is the norm.
Don't know much about New Braunfels, as we live on the West side of San Antonio...that's a hike for us (about 50 miles).

From what I've heard about Chicago's heat and humidity, you'll be fine in Central Texas.

I've been told by several people that the humidity in Missouri is worse than in this area (I'm guessing that'll give you an idea)

Surprisingly, it feels hotter in the Dallas area in the summer than the San Antonio area during the summer.

As for New Braunfels, it's a great little town with lots of things to do for someone your age.
