I have a feeling that Zip Code 78253 will go up overall as there has been/is a lot of new home construction. The local newscast said the 2009 appraisals will be out on Monday (4/20/09).

I have a friend that works at the BCAD and when I told her about the "interest" in the new tax rates and the short window of opportunity between when we get our tax rate notification and the last day to file to contest if you disagree. She said that lots of folks don't realize it, but you can contest even BEFORE you get your tax notification. You don't have to wait to actually receive it to file your contestion of it. Strange, but if you are so inclined maybe you should schedule now and can just drop the appeal if you are liking what they rate you at.
