I bought a used Cadillac from him in the late 1970's. It was his car that he was selling on the call-in show for used items. I really enjoyed that car!

i always liked hearing "Bob Guthrie; WOAI News". the guy has one great voice. I try to imitate him when I am reading aloud to the kids in class. They say I sound like PBS. I say no, I am just trying to sound like Bob Guthrie.

Default Totally Agree,

Guthries voice is unforgettable. Never heard another announcer who could match his voice and delivery,
over any medium. I can recall his voice right now in my head, been listening to that voice since I was a kid it seems.. How many years was he with WOAI ?
Paul Harvey comes to mind. The voice of James Earl Jones' can resonate as though he were speaking from the bottom of a 55 gallon drum. Who can forget HIS famous line for the news network " This... is CNN. "
