Hello,
Does anyone have any opinions on any daycares to avoid in the NW - NE region? I would like to find a reputable daycare that someone has had personal experience with and would recommend. Any info. about this would be helpful.

Thank you,
HandyIT

Avoid the Primrose schools, so far I haven't met a single parent that feels they've gotten even remotely what they've paid for and they are over $200/wk.

Luv-n-care is excellent in my opinion. I have used the Bandera/Grissom location, but I think they have one on Huebner and lockhill-selma.

Thank you for your responses. Does most of these Daycares have a good daily structure? Lot of stimulation, similar to Pre-school activities.

We have recently placed an infant in day care, but it sounds like you are looking for older care. Anyway, we heard good things, in general, about Childrens Courtyard, Bright Horizons, and Country Home. All had structured programs for the kids. We ended up at Bright Horizons, and so far we are happy with it.

We are in Austin (I think these places are all in SA too?), so we can't give you specifics on a particular place, which can be a huge difference, too.

Yes, we are looking for Pre-school (3-5 yrs) care in the SA (North or Central area). Do anyone have an idea what the avg. cost per week for some of these places? I will shop the website for rates, but does anyone have a ballpark figure $$ for planning purposes?
Thanks!

IMO,
Drop your standard of living and have one parent stay at home. In my opinion it's worth it.

I understand, but unfortunately dropping the SoL was'nt the idea. If I could at this time I really would consider it.

I know the owners of Country Home and many of my friends have worked for them. I have heard nothing but good things about them. There is a long waiting list though. The Country Home over by Culebra was full before they even started construction on it.

That's what I'm afraid of. The good ones will have a waiting list and the ones to avoid will have an open door policy.
I need to try to keep a positive attitude about this. Does anyone have other recommendations between the NW - N areas and 410 - 1604?
