Default SAWS or Bexar Met.

If you as a Bexar Met. Ratepayer are given the chance to vote on their future would you vote to have SAWS take over?

Bexar Met is a disaster. Easy "yes".

Though I usually would caution against signing up with a large public utility such as SAWS, in this case it is definitely a big YES.

Normally competition is a good thing, but, BexarMet, is proven disastrous. The news about the mismanagement, the higher costs, the lawsuits, the brother-in-law deals, all is true. If need be I can back up the statements. SAWS became a reality on May 19, 1992.
Quote:
SAWS was created through the consolidation of three predecessor agencies: the City Water Board (the previous city-owned water supply utility); the City Wastewater Department (a department of the city government responsible for sewage collection and treatment); and the Alamo Water Conservation and Reuse District (an independent city agency created to develop a system for reuse of the city's treated wastewater).
Also, Financially Stable:
Quote:
SAWS’ total equity increased by $155.9 million over the course of the year ended December 31, 2008 compared to a $152.9 million increase in 2007.
Bexar Met, on the verge of going down the toilet, literally.
