No, born in San Antonio but grew up on Chicago at the age of ten. Lived in New York City for four years while in high school.

A taco eating contest wouldn't be much different from a hot dog eating contest.
The way I see it , a lot of people are ashamed of their latino roots. They can't stand anything latino. Thats why I see them here complaining about a little contest. Its either the skin heads complaining about latinos or the latinos themselves who hate themselves for being anything other than anglo.

Honestly, if you still can't see that this has nothing to do with being Latino or Hispanic but is bigger than that then you'll never understand what I mean when I say what I say.

My statement wasn't directed at you. It was directed at the person who won't have a taco eating contest. You and him are not talking about the same thing.

I just wish we celebrated the positives in latino culture instead of the things that hold us down and makes us look like fools, like gangs, trashy looks, bravado, and being baby making machines.
We are smart, secure people who need to find pride within ourselfs and not outward. That is all I am saying.

I think this thing has gotten waaayyy off topic from what the OP posted. Nothing about these women suggests that they are trash, involved in gangs, or baby making machines. I think we should redirect our focus on the actual topic, and if its still necessary to talk about the lack of diversity in "HOT" contests in SA, then someone should start a new thread.

Being new in San Antonio (from the Missouri Ozarks)
let me tell you the "flip side"
I had to move 1000 miles away to live in a city where my kids could be proud of their hispanic heritage and speak Spanish without somebody looking at them as if they were sucking on a Wurstfest bratwurst .
I guarantee, that you don't have to drive more than 50 miles from your house before you find a place where people celebrate some european culture.
At least, I don't like it when people act like victims "If you are not latino, you're life is worthless".
Try being a Latino/mexican in the Ozarks and let me know how that goes.
To get back on topic,
I think most of them are pretty

I've never heard of a "Gang beauty contest" or "Baby making machine beauty contest"
