Default Selma

I'm running out of options here and thought it would be worth asking for help.

We just purchased a home in Selma but won't be living in Texas until around July 1st.

We are an army family that will be stuck in North Carolina until around July 1st.

Here's the problem. The builder has told us that our lawn and tree's are doing pretty bad. We had someone lined up to water a few times a week. I guess that's not working out from what we are hearing.

I am hoping that we can find a responsible teenager that would be willing to go over to the house to water. We have hoses we just need someone to go turn the water on and move the sprinklers. I would love to find someone that lives in the Kensington Ranch area.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on where to look for help please let me know. I really want to avoid the newspaper. Just not comfy with that route. At least here it seems more like a community. Well from what I've seen so far.

You may not be subject to this if you're not on SAWS, but in general the guidelines are good to follow.

We're in Stage 1 water restrictions right now, very close to stage 2. Watering should only be done one day per week via sprinkler, although handheld sprayers can be used more often.

I can't help you with finding anyone to actually do it, just wanted to let you know of the local drought restrictions. Your house may not be subject to it directly (as in subject to fine if you don't follow the rules), but I'd think anyone in the area would be wise to follow them for the sake of the water shortage.

If you have drought tolerant grass and trees and they're already been established, lack of water shouldn't hurt them for awhile.

Thank you for the info

I did check and as of right now there are no watering restrictions. It sounds like it changes fast though. I will definitely follow the rules. Hoping to figure out a way to keep our lawn alive while we are able too.

We have fresh sod which is why I'm worried about it dying.
