1. I admit to not having read the whole thread.

2. NO, it doesn't snow regularly in San Antonio! What the heck? "Regularly" does NOT equal once every 3-5 years, or even once a year!

3. I've lived here since 1997 and I can count on one hand the number of times there's been snow that stuck for more than a day in the city of San Antonio.

In 1985, it snowed about 3 times through January and February...the largest snowstorm officially measured 13.5" at SA International Airport but areas on the NW and far W sides had upwards of 15 inches!! It snowed the whole weekend...started late Friday night and kept up through Sunday mid morning or so. And it was beautiful....the hills where Westcreek is located now made for some great three wheeling! It's still amazing to me when I see those pics of SA buried under that much snow....somewhere, I have a newspaper or two saved with all the "hoopla" associated with it.

I've seen that youtube video before....thanks for sharing!

Yeah, my sister had just moved to SA in 1984. My brother and I came to visit from the cold and snowy St. Louis area. We were excited that she was living someplace that didn't have winter, and were looking forward to high temperatures above 20.

Imagine our horror, dismay, revulsion and disgust when we got snowed in in San Antonio. UGH! And imagine our amusement when the idiot San Antonio people all went out and ran around like fools in the snow! And imagine how horror multiplied by about 1000000000000000 when we realized these people were DRIVING in snow! Yikes!

We ended up staying an extra two days in order to not have to drive in snow with the crazy warm-weather people.

Last time it really snowed was 1984-85...prior to then it seemed to snow once every 10 years or so....there have been some flurries here and there but nothing sticks.

I was born and rfaised here. 66 now. We had 2 or 3 inches in 1947, some snow in 1950's, in 1966 there was about 3 inches. From 1968-1976 I was in Houston. Didn't see any snow except out in east Texas in 1971. We had three snows in 1985 and Houston had two. San Antonio didn't have any snow worth mentioning when I moved to St. Louois Metro in 1999 through 2006. Up there I was experiencing three to ten snows annually, but I never saw as much as we had here in 1985. Up there in winter of 1999-2000 the month of December it stayed under freezing for about 3 or 4 weeks, enough to cause the lakes to freeze over. Snow just stayed on the ground getting blacker and blacker.

Before my time (family pic) snow in 1923:
