Any suggestions on avoiding Blanco Road traffic delays north of Loop 1604? I will be working in Timberwood Park this month and hear stories of the Blanco Rd. gridlock traffic that stretches for miles outside the Loop.

Any hints on times, detours, or shortcuts would be appreciated.

Looks like Canyon Golf Rd. runs parallel to Blanco along the eastern edge of Timberwood Park.

Try 281 to Overlook Pkwy to Canyon Golf, then left on Quiet Rapids. Going north on 281 in the morning and south in the evening would be against the prevailing traffic flow there.

Just don't go between 730 and 930 am & 4-630.

You can also take 281 to borgfeld road and go to timberwood that way.

Traffic really shouldn't be bad if your driving OUT TO Timberwood Park. The traffic back up happens for those people heading towards 1604 in the AM and obviously back toward Timberwood during rush hour(s).

I agree with snake...if you are coming from Loop 1604, traffic heading towards Timberwood Park shouldn't be that bad on Blanco in the morning. Just went that way around 9 this a.m. and -- aside from the construction trucks -- there were barely any vehicles on road. Canyon Golf is such a round-about way...will probably be just as long, if not longer. Just keep an eye out for any road / intersection closures due to the Blanco expansion project. That's really when everything screeches to a grinding halt.

It sucks both ways. My old office was out on Gathering Oak, so I was in it all the time.
