Yikes, no wonder there's so much road rage in SA. It's a jungle out there. If people would just leave their egos and distractions at the door the roads would be so much safer. Interesting to see just how vulnerable you are as a passenger in certain areas of a bus in the event of a crash.

I hate VIA bus drivers. They must get taught somewhere by somebody that they own the road. All of them have the same mentality. They are NOT getting out of your way, and you better get out of theirs, even when they are clearly in the wrong. Size wins, and they know that. But they **** me off BAD! I hope I never have to ride on one. I'd love to, for the environment, but I love my life, and it takes a minimum of 6 times longer to get anywhere anyway. VIA sucks.

I love the reactions of the VIA drivers..... they don't appear to slam on their brakes when a car is in their way. ::GRR!::
I hope those people who sat all the way in the back are OK! I agree, now I know where to never sit if I ever have to get on a VIA bus (or any other bus).

OK, if you pay close attention to the video, you will see in many cases that the person at fault is not the VIA bus driver! I saw several red light runners and people failing to yield. Of courset there was a fair share of accidents caused by the bus drivers; but it seems like the majority were due to other drivers inattentiveness or carelessness...
And based on that video, it appears safer to sit than to stand on a bus, if you ask me...
Cheers! M2

Yea, it seems most of the crashes were the result of stupid drivers not paying attention to the lights. However, there were a few bad bus drivers, too.
Agreed about standing rather than sitting. Did this at UT-Austin..those bus drivers are something else. I recall we ran over a guy on his bike once and all we felt was a little "bump".*
*turned out later that it was his bike that ran over, not him.

Hehe..when I was living at the Jersey shore, sometimes I would take the train into Manhattan for meetings. Every once in a while you would get some nut committing suicide by throwing himself on the train tracks....we wouldn't even feel it...the train would just slow to a stop and we'd be offloaded onto another train a little while later while the police investigated. We all knew what had happened.
I suspect that there wasn't much left of these people.
