Entirely possible! I usually just go with one of my friends. Neither my husband nor his wife like anime enough to go with us, so we go together. lol

I've never seen huge crowds at the Bijou, and the Bijou's not that far from Park North, so mainstream fare is probably a good choice for that location.

I hope this place doesn't turn out to be as ridiculously crowded as the theater at The Quarry. That's probably its nearest competition, and there is definitely demand for movies in the North Central part of town.

I think there are a few reasons why the Bijou does not feel crowded. First, it is an age restricted theater, so the potential typical teens that hang outside and inside are absent. Second, since the theater serves food and drinks I think that many patrons go straight to sit down and order. The Bijou does not feel or look crowded, but I have been in films that are at full capacity and am happy to support that property.

As for The Drafthouse, considering the Comedy Club is age restricted and the restaurant opening on the shared upper level is supposed to be "nice", perhaps the property won't be as saturated with crowds as the Quarry is.

I remember seeing on the news recently that the grand opening for both Alamo Drafthouse and Laugh Out Loud (LOL) Comedy Club is on the 20th (next Fri!). They said this AD location is the first location with stadium seating and the first one built from the ground up (for example, the Westlakes location used to be a Santikos, if my memory serves me right). I myself have never been to Alamo Drafthouse, so I'd definitely like to check it out.

The Alamo Drafthouse at Park North is now open! I went to Yahoo! Movies last night, and they had an entry for today's movie showtimes at the new theater.

Google, too. Only 3 features showing today: 2012, New Moon and The Blind Side.
