What is "The Candy Lounge" coming to Sunset Ridge?
We all knew that Super Suppers was going to bite the dust - a bad idea before the economy went bad, itself. But is "The Candy Lounge" to be a kids' place? I'm assuming some kind of candy store, for the AH/TH "I'm-not-suffering-from-the-recession-so-I'll-mow-you-down-with-my-SUV" crowd? Loved Saffron's in the space, prior, but was told by neighboring business owners that it was mismanaged.....

It's listed as a candy store, but I haven't been by that way in a while

Thanks for the link, but UGH. Nothing new. Just what AH needs - from Saffron's to a kiddie candy store. That spot is a bit cursed, so I don't give this business any better odds. Looks like they're just relocating. Wasn't the spot also a New Braunfels something-or-other in the late 80s/early 90s??

It was New Braunfels Smokehouse for a number of years. Someone told me they pulled out due to a proposed rent increase on their lease renewal. It seemed to me like the Smokehouse did a pretty good business.
So now Super Suppers is puling out now? I only tried it once. I thought it was pretty good, considering I had to settle on a frozen dinner, after my first four or five dinner choices were out of stock (they said it had been an incredibly busy day). I guess I never really understood the concept.

The Smokehouse did leave after refusing a rent hike. The children were through school so the business was consolidated in New Braunfels.

The Candy Lounge?! It sounds like a strip club.

It looks like it's a knockoff of the Dylan's Candy Bar concept. There's one in the Galleria in Houston.

Me either, you can get "home cooked" food takeout at any cafeteria or casual dining place, and you can freeze whatever you want yourself. Now if they delivered, maybe...

You can get "home cooked" at Central Market, as well. Plus, the costs were too high at SS. You can cook it yourself in 30 minutes, for a fraction of the price. Of course, they had no way of knowing the economy would self-destruct. But the day it opened, I KNEW it would tank.
