With the new interchange now complete at I-10 and 410 at Crossroads Mall....there are some major probs with the signage. Recently, coming off Fred Rd going East to 410 from the frontage road, we almost got sideswiped by a car that almost missed the 410 merge lane. The signs for 410 and Cherry Ridge are so high up that the overpass blocks them. You can't see which way to go until you are practically on the exit. (not sure I'm making sense).

There are a few other places with really bad signage placement. I'm sure I'll think of them.

Anyone else have poorly placed signage locations?

Seems to me last time I was out that way it was confusing. I don't frequent that interchange nowadays but recall being confused by signage. Going north on 410 and wanting to go south on I-10. I admit the interchange has changed drastically since I used to travel it a lot. Good observation Cat. Hopefully someone will bring it to the Hwy Dept's attention. Yes, I'm sure there are plenty other instances of bad signage. I don't drive so much lately and not up to snuff on the subject.

Well..I've already reported that location. It's really dangerous. We'll see how much they care!

I'm actually compiling a list of signage issues to send to TxDOT soon, so I'll add this to it. The last time I reported something, they did fix it. Something like this, though, since it involves overhead structures, may take a bit longer to fix. I'll have to drive by there this weekend and take a look. This is probably one of those cases when it looked good on paper but not so good in practice.

That's great that you're doing that. I was wondering if there was a clearance problem with trucks if they dropped a sign lower. It might need a sign on the ground 410 <------!------> Cherry Ridge...well, you get the picture.

I wonder if this is where that fatal accident was today?

OH...that's tragic. I hadn't heard that on the news. I can't imagine how horrible that was for everyone involved and everyone that witnessed it!

The signage I'm talking about is Eastbound....but it is in that same mix master. It's also the same location that tragedy took place last month with the man that jumped from the overpass.

TXDot had better be studying that whole interchange. It's turning out to be very dangerous.

When I exit San Pedro/Blanco from 410 west and take the Blanco 'overpass' over San Pedro they have one sign that says left lane ends and another sign ~50' later that says right lane ends

Then, when you get to Blanco they took away one of the left turn lines (turning inside 410) and they've never put up any signage to warn people there is only one turn lane now. Every day someone gets confused and has to block traffic in order to get into the correct lane

I really wish the city would FINISH projects. Have they never heard of a punch list???

Besides signage they really need to re-paint most of the lines in this town!! It's hard to tell where to stop, where the crosswalks are, which lane turns, etc. Really annoying!!
